Potters 'Arf 2017

It's been 10 years - and we need your stories...

2017 is the 10th anniversary of the Hanley Economic Building Society's sponsorship of the Potters 'Arf. So this year we're going to celebrate this fantastic race with a special book of your memories of the race - the good, the bad and the ugly!

It might be your PB race; or that time that shin splints cruelly cut you down a mile from the finish; or a moving story of a family member in whose memory you were running in; or a very British account of ten years of Potters 'Arf weather...

Whatever your experience, and whatever your age, we'd love to hear from you. What does the Potters 'Arf mean to you?

How can I contribute?

If you've been involved in the Potters 'Arf in any way over the past ten years, and have an inspiring, moving or entertaining story to share with us then please get in contact. 500 words or 5,000 words, it doesn't matter! You could be a runner, a spectator, a marshal, a long-suffering partner, a sponsor - every perspective is welcome. And if you've got pictures of your day, send us them as well.

What's the deal?

As long as it's printable (it's a family site!) then we'll publish it here on the website, but the best contributions will go into a special 10th Anniversary book, with all profits going to the two Potters 'Arf charities, the Dougie Mac and the Donna Louise Trust. We can't promise you'll become a world famous author, but you'll certainly get some bragging rights - and you'll be supporting some great causes and a great race.

Help! I need some inspiration...

Check out some of last year's stories here, or better still, buy our 2016 Potters 'Arf book and really get a feel for what your story might look like in print.
